Many of us are quick to blame
Others for our sin and shame
We find fault in what is true,
Especially when we don't make it though.
We make excuses when things go wrong,
Knowing full well where blame belongs.
We put down family and friends,
When we don't achieve our desired ends.
We have the nerve to even say,
God knows our heart, it'll be okay.
Do we really expect family or friends
To take the blame for all our sins?
Do we really expect what is true
To justify failures for me and you?
Do we really expect to pass any test
By making excuses for our mess?
Do we really expect to someday win
By putting down others again and again?
Do we really expect God to say,
I know your heart it is okay?
Certainly we know, God is true,
He does the same for me and you.
We are responsible; we will pay;
thus we should, do it God's way.
