What Warehouse Operations contributes to Cardinal Health
Operations is responsible for materials handling and product distribution in a distribution or manufacturing environment. Includes warehousing and fulfillment of materials and products, transportation, inventory management as well as demand, supply and manufacturing planning.
Warehouse Operations is responsible for performing/controlling a combination of manual or automated tasks necessary for the receipt, storage, and shipment of product. This may include functions of receiving, picking, packing, shipping, staging, transporting, storage, delivery, etc. Also responsible for the efficient flow of products from the point of product receipt from vendors to the shipment of products (via prescribed service parameters) to a variety of internal and external customers. Job Summary The Pharmacy Clerk supports daily warehouse operations by performing a variety of inbound and outbound tasks to ensure products are received, processed, prepared, and shipped accurately and on time. This role checks in incoming inventory, verifies product accuracy, prepares and stocks materials, and assists with packaging and fulfillment of outbound orders. The Pharmacy Clerk ensures all work meets quality, safety, productivity, and operational standards while contributing to a reliable and efficient workflow. Responsibilities Receive and unload incoming shipments using a manual pallet jack or similar equipment. Verify incoming products against purchase orders and report any discrepancies to management. Check in inventory using the warehouse management system after appropriate training. Store products in designated warehouse locations and ensure items are properly organized and accessible. Prepare boxes, assemble kits, pre-pack items, and stock bins as needed to support daily workflow. Pick, pack, and prepare orders for outbound shipment, ensuring accuracy and proper labeling. Use ShipStation or similar tools to print shipping labels and process outgoing packages. Palletize outbound orders and hand off shipments to FedEx or other carriers, ensuring all packages are accounted for. Maintain inventory awareness by identifying low-stock items or shortages and communicating them promptly. Follow all safety, quality, and operational standards while keeping work areas clean and organized. Perform physical warehouse tasks including standing for long periods, bending, reaching, and lifting up to 50 lbs.
Qualifications 12 years of experience in a warehouse, fulfillment, shipping/receiving, or related environment, preferred. High school diploma, GED or equivalent, or equivalent work experience, preferred. Ability to stand for an entire shift and perform frequent bending, reaching, stooping, and repetitive movements. Ability to lift, carry, and move up to 50 lbs regularly. Comfortable working at heights of 2030 feet when required. Ability to operate a manual pallet jack and other basic warehouse equipment. Basic computer skills and ability to learn warehouse systems. Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify and report inventory or order discrepancies. Reliable, team-oriented, and able to communicate effectively with supervisors and warehouse associates.
