AbbVies International Commercial Businessisseekinga highly skilled and experienced individualfor its Winning with Data capabilityto join our team as an Associate Director of Data and Analytics Engineering. In this role, you willbe responsible forleading the development and implementation of dataengineeringand analytics solutions. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to drive data-driven decision-making and enable advanced analytics capabilities across the organization. The ideal candidate is a strategic thinker, a strong leader, andpossessesa deep understanding of data engineering principles, analytics methodologies, and experience with Palantir Foundry(or other similar data management platforms) Responsibilities Lead and manage a team of data engineers and analytics professionals, providing guidance, mentoring, and performance management. Collaborate with cross-functional teams, toidentifyand prioritize data and analytics requirements, ensuring alignment with business goals and regulatory compliance. Oversee the design, development, implementation, and maintenance of AbbVie's datamanagementand analytics solutions using Palantir Foundry platform. Drive the adoption andutilizationof Palantir Foundry's capabilities to streamline data ingestion,data transformation,data quality, data governance, and analytics workflows. Work closely with stakeholderslikeData Product Managers, Capability ProductOwners,Affiliates, CustomerExcellenceto understand their data needs, challenges, and opportunities, and translate them into scalable and efficient data solutions. Define and implement data governance strategies, ensuring data quality, integrity, and security in adherence to regulations and internal policies. Develop andoptimizedata pipelines, data transformation processes, and data models to enable efficient and reliable data consumption by various business units. Drive the adoption of advanced analytics techniques, such as machine learning, predictivemodeling, and data visualization, leveraging Palantir Foundry's capabilities. Track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure the effectiveness and impact of data and analytics initiatives on commercial operations. Provide thought leadership and contribute to the development of data and analytics strategies, roadmaps, and best practices.
Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in computer science, data engineering, bioinformatics, ora related field with 9 years experience; Master's Degree with 8 years experience; PhD with 4 years experience. Proven experience (8+ years) in data engineering, analytics engineering, or a similar role, preferably within the pharmaceutical or life sciences industry. Strong leadership and team management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire a diverse team of professionals. Deep understanding and hands-on experience with Palantir Foundryor other similar data managementplatforms, includingdata governance, data modeling, and analytics capabilities. Proficiencyin programming languagescommonlyused in data engineering, such as Python, SQL, and/orScala. Experience with big data technologies, such as Hadoop, Spark, or NoSQL databases, and familiarity with cloud platforms, such as AWS or Azure. Solid understanding of analytics methodologies, including machine learning, predictive modeling, and data visualizationtechniques. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to translate complex business requirements and scientific concepts into technical solutions. Strong communicationand interpersonal skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate with both technical and non-technical stakeholders in a highly regulated environment. Knowledge of pharmaceutical industry regulations, suchanddata privacy laws, is highly desirable.
